[ Aside from appearing in the chat and getting into verbal fisticuffs with 90% of the remaining Foundation crew that one time, Hikage has been pretty quiet. There's a couple of reasons for that, but one night in PST Gil gets a text unprompted. ]
[ It was quiet on Gilgamesh's end as well. Though the chat debacle happened, Gilgamesh had not been present, though rare it was, due to the simple fact that he was likely busy bothering Solomon about taking a break/going on a vacay.
Or taking some more 'time' himself. Regardless, it was around this time that he was reading through the nonsense in that chat with a little frown as he was rather late to The Nonsense, shaking his head. Really...
There was one part of him that thought such fisticuffs on both sides was simply childish. Then there was another that took enjoyment in the strife it created, but in the end he simply shook his head.
...He may have been having a drink himself when he saw this text from Hikage. He'll chuckle.
[ And as he was sending this, the blond-haired man was right outside of Hikage's door. Knocking wasn't something a King did, so he just spirited (for lack of a better word) right through the door. Hikage should know he's here already from just his presence, so...
Naturally he'd be simply waiting for Hikage to reveal himself now, dressed in a red shirt and black pants; simple but fancy looking. ]
[ Was it an offer Gil, really. See, because Hikage was just milling about the kitchen, putting away the sake from their recent delivery, when he decided to snap a picture of the gold bottle to send just cause. Because here in Japan it's just around lunchtime, and while he sure is a lush nowadays, usually they wait until the afternoon to start. Which isn't the case today, but also perhaps more importantly, Subete isn't here to drink with him.
It's not entirely uncommon for Hikage to go with him to Tokyo when business calls, but depending on the duration, sometimes he opts to stay. This is one of those times; his only plan until Subete returned was to finish reading a book (The Birds of Japan). He certainly wasn't expecting company and he's not dressed for it either, but he could do worse than a yukata.
Besides, that's the least of his problems right now. ]
[ Their house is as ridiculous and luxurious as you would expect it to be if you've crossed paths with Subete at some point, which also means that it comes equipped with an alarm system naturally. Both standard and magical variety. And although Gil hasn't intruded inside the house proper (just inside the genkan), he's certainly inside their grounds, so same thing almost.
The standard alarm is what alerts Hikage first, though it's not overly blaring or unpleasant, just a distinct tone that repeats in a rhythm. He's passingly familiar with it at least because in the early days of their robot invasion, one occasionally set it off now and again. Still, he wasn't expecting it so he definitely tumbled off the couch he had just settled on, making a beeline for the control panel with accompanying video feed, not even hearing his phone go off.
Who could even-
...perhaps he should have expected this. ]

[ Hikage takes a moment to heave a sigh and a curse, turning the alarm off with only a minimal amount of fumbling for the old man he is. Technology...technology-the robots.
There's another curse followed by a string of Latin because their newly returned 216-kun, now known as 10-kun, only speaks Latin for some reason and he's part of their general security. One part of many. It's doubtful that Gil is really listening in too hard, but with his superior hearing he might be able to make out some yelling in french, latin, german and various other languages??? What's even going on inside...
Silence follows, eventually broken by the likely reassuring creak of a door opening. In that moment, a flash of light goes off followed by a beep-beep; Gil just totally got his picture taken by the very robot that was the star of the MISSING poster in chat. And in the precipice of the door is Hikage, looking entirely disheveled and possibly like he just rolled out of bed, but really he just rolled around the house instead mollifying the security. At least he found his phone sometime in the scramble, because in the most striking character development of his 20+ years in this world, he's learned to be somewhat courteous towards one person at least (the text he sends off to Subete is brief but important). ]
...a king goes where he wants, is it? [ He is not doing the best job at covering up how unexpected this, but also if he doesn't straight say "what the hell are you doing here?" he's not losing the entire war. Probably. ]
On Gilgamesh's end, the King merely waited not knowing that he literally caused quite a lot of trouble just by walking into an area. That was the King of Heroes for you, always causing no small amount of fanfare wherever he went.
Also, to make matters better, when a picture was taken, it seemed to capture him taking a magnificent pose, one hand on hip, the other with fingers in his hair with a way that'd make even the most talented super model jealous. There may have somehow even been ethereal, golden sparkles in that as well.
No one could've topped the speed he made such a glorious pose in for sure. But when Hikage came looking disheveled as all hell, he'd see Gilgamesh was standing in a relaxed stance/pose like he hadn't done the pose a second ago. It's all good here, fam. ]
Naturally. You seemed to have sent that picture in order to make an offer with a drink to myself, so you should've anticipated my accepting such an invitation.
[ ... Yes, it would become clear this occurred due to a misunderstanding... and even if it'd be made clear to Gilgamesh in the next moment, he wouldn't feel one iota of shame for it. Nor would he feel so inclined to immediately vacate the premises; he may as well spend time with Hikage and do some more catching up after all.
[ Hikage will be in awe of Gil's model pose later, or at the very least Subete might be. Because he only knows the basics about how they work which actually amounts to: technology, and Subete being Subete.
For now though, Gil does get a momentary flat stare and then a heavy sigh which thinly covers the need to catch his breath. ]
...of course. I just underestimated the speed at which you would arrive, but I should have known you wouldn't opt for a regular transport method. It's just after lunch here, you know. [ How long has it been since he's lied? Well, lying to save his pride really didn't count. ]
Anyway, welcome to Japan and our base. It'll be just me, you, and the robots, at least for now. [ He'll wave Gil inside (stealing a second to fix his hair some), holding the door open for him of course. ]
[ If anything, Gilgamesh looked entirely too amused when he was given a flat stare. Because at heart he was an ancient king with a gremlin side who liked to tease and exasperate people; especially those he gave some semblance of cares about.
Even if he wouldn't really say such a thing to most people's faces. Not in a straight forward manner, anyway. ]
Normal transportation is usually below me, of course. I only subject myself to it when necessary.
I presume Subete is off doing some sort of 'work'?
[ The usual overconfident smirk found its way onto his face, but he'll come closer walking through the door. What kind of magnificence will he see upon doing so? ]
He's taking care of business, yeah. But he knows you're here, with an entrance like that. [ A particular sort of lilt carries through his words; Subete really was taking care of business in both the normal and implied sense of the phrase, as is the standard when they interact with society these days. They could blend in when they wanted to, but they were also themselves with all of the accompanying flourish.
Which extends to their house, of course. The architecture is Japanese, spacious, and overly luxurious with some sprinkling of modern aesthetic. Through the windows Gil can catch sight of a garden in the distance, the sounds of wild birds offset by the tides of the ocean close by. Gil being who he is can also sense the familiar scrawl of magic humming in the house, verbalism accents peppered throughout. After walking through several rooms (the bane of affluent living) they arrive at the living room, Hikage settling down onto the sofa and shouting something in German that summons a robot with the aforementioned sake bottle. ]
I'm surprised you had the free time to spare between Solomon and whatever mess they've gotten into in America. Unless this is a visit to inform me that the Foundation has finally collapsed in on itself, in which case there's plenty to drink to.
