Ah, that's right. Hm, then I'll just have to go with something else instead. [ Yeah, he's going for a kiss. Just one because hangovers really aren't fun, but the opportunity is there so he takes it. That's what this new life is supposed to be about, possibly. And maybe because it's his way of saying that he doesn't regret last night even if this wasn't where he expected to find himself this morning.
[Oh. Well then. This one he doesn't entirely see coming either but it's not as much of an ambush as suddenly having two people and drapery under one pillow, so it takes only a moment and a little hum (one must consider the novelty of kisses and kisses in the morning mixed together with the misfortune of morning breath and hangover-style contact, after all, even if it's really no contest at all) for Subete to kiss back, just as slow and lazy and unrepentant.
Words are overrated when just moving your jaw makes it feel like half the birds waking up outside are roosting in your skull, and while there's a whole bunch of things still waiting to be done or addressed outside their bubble it's still quiet and dark and unbroken enough for now (albeit only thanks to the fact that this bed has too many pillows) to go solely on impulse and instinct.
He doesn't pull away after but stays close for perhaps the same reasons, lips still curved.]
Good, I agree. [ It's easy enough to say that and it's important enough to say that. The smile on his face speaks for him too, mischievous with a soft edge.
He kinda wants to kiss Subete again, it's really really tempting actually, but this position isn't the most comfortable and he's too aware of other things now like wanting a shower and a fresh change of clothes. So he lets himself fall backwards onto the bed with a soft sigh, as surely this is progress still if they're no longer tangled up with each other. ]
Why do I feel like I need directions to the bathroom...that didn't come included in last night's read. There really are Mc Donald's everywhere here...
[Words still pale in comparison to everything else that just happened and has been happening since they awoke from actual miasma slumber. But coupled with the smile and the momentary closeness -- there's some mysterious and funny kind of alchemy happening there because somewhere between the aches and the ridiculous misuse of pillows and the real need for grooming he still feels almost as warm as he did last night and not at all like moving.
But the fact of the matter is that it seems much more done to pursue kisses after washing up despite all the steps in between, even with all intruding thoughts piling up at the edge of the single-pillow fort somehow, so he lets out a low sigh of his own when Hikage rolls away and gingerly starts to roll himself out from underneath the pillow as well.
There are so many regrets here related to the sudden re-existence of sunlight but Subete forces himself up on his elbows with a mumble of ouch and some more incoherent commentary on birds.]
Maybe there's a map on the bedside table... I didn't get a good look at the room-- [ah, he didn't, but he's getting a distinct peek at how this particular room has only one bed and just -- pausing for a moment] ... McDonald's?
[Sorry, his brain still needs a few more moments to reboot at this rate.]
[ That gets him to laugh again and his stomach is of course still sore, so he regrets it immediately; but really what other kind of reaction is he supposed to have to the real possibility of needing a map to navigate their hotel room? ]
Ahh if there really is one—I'll figure it out. [ There's a mumble here about not being used to some things, which is probably how they're both feeling right now. Nothing left to do but honor his word though, so he does finally manage to roll off the bed with a grunt. A half-stretch, half-rub at his head follows after. ]
Yeah the restaurant group, there's a couple around here. [ He's giving McDonald's way too much credit, but he's never been there. A pause as he closes his eyes while he sifts through the memories he got last night, but they pop open again almost immediately. ]
...they have hash browns? [ It doesn't really sound entirely like a question, but it does sound like he has entirely way too much stake in fried potatoes. ]

Ah. That's an improvement too.
